How would gay marriage destory the "sanctity of marriage" when 50% of all marriages end in divorce?

Doesn't seem to be much "sanctity" left. Half of them end, so many people have affairs, and lots of people still marry for money instead of love. Why should two people who hate eachother have more rights than a gay couple who truly love eachother?
