Formal Living Room - PAINT COLOR- HELP?

hi! i hope someone can help me out. We have a new house, and bought our furniture - a white couch, two side chairs that are white with a faint gray and black pattern, a dark espresso ottoman coffee table & side table - hard wood floors. there are three walls in the room - one has mostly windows , the other has a white trim fireplace, and the other is behind the white couch. Would it look ok to paint the fireplace wall and the big wall behind the couch gray and the back wall with the windows and more neural tan/beige? i have never posted before- hope someone can help! thank you!!!
